It includes all previously released XenServer 6. Citrix will continue to provide security updates to the base XenServer 6. After this six month period elapses, any new hotfixes will only be released to support XenServer 6. For detailed information about new features, see XenServer 6. Important : Customers must install this Service Pack to all hosts in the pool starting with the Pool Master.
Failure to follow this sequence may result in pool members being unable to connect to the Pool Master until the Pool Master has been updated and rebooted. As with any software update, it is recommended that you back up your data before applying this Service Pack. Once the update has installed, the server must be restarted for it to take effect.
Customers must update all hosts within a pool sequentially starting with the Pool Master. Upgrading of hosts should be scheduled to minimize the amount of time the pool runs in a "mixed state" where some hosts have been upgraded and some have not. Running a mixed pool of updated and non-updated hosts for general operation is not supported.
Note: The attachment to this article is a zip file. It contains both the update package, and the source code for any modified open source components. The source code is not necessary for the Service Pack installation: it is provided to fulfil licensing obligations.
Note: If you click Cancel at this stage, the Install Update wizard reverts the changes and removes the update file from the host. Note : Ensure that you have at least MB of disk space on the dom0 filesystem of EACH host in the pool before uploading the xsupdate file. In addition, this Service Pack includes the following previously released hotfixes. Installing the update using XenCenter Download the update to a known location on a computer that has XenCenter installed.

I know it's older software but this is what we have to work with at the moment. IF there is anyone out there who has a work around for this issue please post -- you would be saving our IT Dept some serious grief!
Sounds like its your XenServer 5. You either need to upgrade to XenServer 7. My plan was to upgrade to XenServer 7. I was under the impression that if we do upgrade to XenServer 7. And IF there is a license that is required is there anywhere I can go to download a temp license until we get situated?
I am not looking for a band-aid fix but until we get situated with our current situation this may be our best route. We are in the middle of a company-merger here so we are on hold with a few things. At the end of March was the last opportunity to extend any licensing before XS 7.
X and above. Thanks for posting Tobias! Is it possible to still purchase XenServer 5. Since its unsupported I don't think you can download a license that will work for XenServer and Citrix will.
A Citrite just posted recently on another thread that you. If this is a single server you can probably upgrade to the lastes CU relseas and run. Just keep in mind by doing so you are committing to always upgrade as new releases come out.
The best way would be for us to just purchase the xenserver 5. Or else we're going to be stuck upgrading. I'm not sure if you can upgrade from xenserver 5. Has anyone done an upgrade like this before? Its not really an upgrade unless you went through multiple versions. The best thing to do is install clean since you are so far behind on versions.
There have been posts made since I last commended that if you install the XenDesktop trial to your license server XenServer will license unlimited. It is not possible to renew any XenServer license older than 7. X as of March You would have to purchase a new 7. X license or run the fee version currently 8.
